The Lord wants children to know that Jesus Christ is God's promised King and Savior forever. God promised that he would send a savior to the earth to redeem all mankind. The savior would be both a heavenly king and an earthly king. Being the only begotten of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son is our heavenly king and Savior. Being born in the lineage of King David, He was also of the earthly kingship.
